Policy's and Terms

Terms and Conditions for Moving Services

 Service Agreement: By engaging Moving Matters, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein for the provision of moving services.

  • Minimum 4 hr charge for moving services 

  • Services will be charged out from departure from yard to return to yard.

  •  Estimates and Payments: a. Estimates are based on the information provided. Any changes may result in adjustments to the final cost. b. A fuel surcharge and supplies charge will be added to final bill. c. A deposit of 25% or credit card on file is required to secure our services, with the balance due upon completion of the move. d. We accept cash, credit cards, no cheques: a 3% additional charge for all credit cards.

  • Cancellation and Rescheduling: a. A cancellation fee being your deposit 25% may apply if notice is not given within 7 days of the scheduled move. b. Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

  •  Packing and Unpacking: a. The client is responsible for properly packing all items, unless packing services are specifically requested. b. The moving company is not liable for damage to items packed by the client or third party.

  •  Liability and Insurance: a. Moving Matters is insured for the duration of the move, with coverage outlined in the provided insurance policy. b. The client is encouraged to procure additional insurance for valuable or fragile items. Also the client is encouraged to move those fragile items themselves which may in include TV, Stereos, Mirrors etc.

  • Delays: a. While Moving Matters will make every effort to adhere to the agreed-upon schedule, unforeseen circumstances may lead to delays. b. Compensation for delays will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Property Access: a. The client is responsible for ensuring access to both the current and new property for the moving crew. b. Any delays or additional costs incurred due to access issues will be the responsibility of the client. c. Please make sure the elevator is booked for your scheduled move in/out times.
     

  •  Damages and Claims: a. Any damage to items or property must be reported within [X] days of the move. b. Claims are subject to review, and compensation will be determined based on the provided evidence. c. Damage or loss sustained during moving process does not release the client from the clients obligation to pay in full for services rendered, upon job completion

  •  Hazardous Materials: a. Moving Matters will not transport hazardous materials, including but not limited to flammable, explosive, or corrosive substances. If these materials are within the move without our knowledge the client with will assume all liability associated with damage or fines.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service under dangerous, unsanitary, or abusive conditions, the determination of which is at our sole discretion, and we will not be liable for refusal of service.
